Kate Woods is an Auckland based artist. She has exhibited in numerous artistic spaces including Te Tuhi, Auckland, XYZ Collective, Tokyo, and City Gallery, Wellington. In 2012 Woods was the recipient of the Asia: NZ foundation artist residency in Beijing, China. Her artistic practice focuses on the intersection between art forms, combining elements of photography and paint to create innovative works that challenge our conception of the natural world. Woods plays with the viewer’s perception through her combination of nature and artifice, presenting images that feel at once familiar and unrecognisable.
