Upcoming: NORTHART Winter Members Show 2024

A callout to all NORTHART members to participate in the last opportunity for members to exhibit in the current building before we move to temporary premises next year and then to a dedicated gallery in the new Northcote Community Hub.

Participate in an exhibition celebrating both this gallery space and our local environment - you are invited to create works inspired by native flora and fauna.

In keeping with Matariki festivities in the Kaipātiki area, reference to the pūriri tree and pūriri moth (also known as the ghost moth) is encouraged. The puriri tree and the nocturnal, ghost-like puriri moth have been adopted to represent connection or personal relationship with the past.

Our friends at the Kaipatiki Community Facilities Trust are coordinating a local response to the Matariki 2024 celebrations.

“Activities will focus on the nature of active reflection or the need for our communities to find meaningful, creative ways to look back at the past year and remember. Particularly in a shared pause for thought or imagined moment where collectively we bring to mind all those who have gone before.”

NORTHART welcomes expressions of interest for this swansong show.
