Northart is a registered charity and not-for-profit public art gallery funded by Kaipātiki Local Board and Birkenhead Licensing Trust.
The gallery relies on our loyal members and volunteers to meet our operational requirements.

• the opportunity to exhibit in our retail space, ‘Northart Objects’

  Northart is excited to invite members to submit 2 or 3 images of work that you’d like to exhibit in Northart Objects.

  This is our new, curated retail space in the window of the South Gallery. Ceramic objects, glassworks, jewellery, printmaking & textiles plus occasional small paintings & drawings will all be considered. 

  Items that reflect current exhibitions are selected for consignment and we will keep a few items in the stock room to refresh displays. 

  Do you, for example, have something that might look great with the Printmaking or Pacifica exhibitions showing before the end of 2022? 

  Member works will be exhibited alongside other works by contemporary artists from across Aotearoa.

  Makers are also encouraged to curate their own selected items.

• the opportunity to exhibit on Northart’s ‘Digital Screens’

  Northart Objects complements Northart Digital. As a member you are also invited to exhibit images of your work via our digital installation which shows 24 hours a day

• Northart members are also entitled to a 10% discount at Northart Objects including art magazines

• regular members-only email newsletters

• invitations to the opening functions of all exhibition openings and other special events

• early notice about classes and workshops

• member discounts at our Artist-Led and professional development workshops.

• reduced gallery commission on the sale of your artworks

• special offer : Skar Image Lab, Fine Art Print Studio,  is offering a minimum discount of ten percent (and possibly up to thirty percent discount) off your retail print pricing, depending on the print sizes / paper stock. Your file must be print ready. Skar Image Labs can make adjustments for you at an additional cost if necessary. This offer is for paid-up Members of Northart. • the opportunity to contribute by working as a volunteer in the gallery, assisting at opening functions and/or becoming a member of the governing body of Northart
