Call for Exhibition Proposals

Northart is a community gallery comprised of two large exhibition spaces in the heart of Northcote on Auckland’s North Shore with a history spanning over twenty years.

Northart aims to showcase contemporary art practice from our local and national artist community working in all media. Our kaupapa is to present art that engages with contemporary life and reflects the diversity of culture in New Zealand. 

Proposals are now invited from individuals or groups of emerging, mid career and established New Zealand artists and curators for projects in late 2020 - mid 2021.

Selected artists with work with the Gallery Directors to develop a month-long exhibition or creative project to include a public programme of an artist talk, workshop for children or adults or similar. 

Proposal requirements:

  • Exhibition concept with description of your proposed show (one page)

  • Indication of public programme activity i.e artist talk, children's workshop

  • A selection of previous and/or current images of work

  • An up to date CV for each participating artist or curator

  • An indication of when you will be ready to exhibit

  • Any other relevant documentation to support your proposal, including reviews, links to websites or online portfolios
